Required Skill sets:
Exposure to server grade hardware like - IBM - AIX, HP UX and SUN and UNIX appliances.
Installation and configuration of Samba on UNIX platform
Administration, installation and configuration of UNIX operating systems (Good Knowledge)
Creating filesystems and monitoring of diskspace and filesystems
Update security/ application patches and ML or TL
Tuning Kernel parameters
Setting up of NFS, DNS
NIS implementation
Backup & restore operations like tar, cpio, backup, fbackup
Configuring tape drives
Security settings to dir/file
Certification on any of the platforms -Redhat/IBM/HPUX/SUN is preferred.
