EXPERIENCE, CHARACTERISTICS & KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
Relevant Exp.: 4 Yrs Min - 12 Yrs Max.
Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria of having minimum 4 years
of experience on UDB DBA will not be considered.
Educational / Professional Qualification (Preferable): BE / B Tech/ MCA/
Diploma/B.Sc.
Excellent Communication skills .
Willingness to work in shifts including Night Shifts.:

Job Description:
- Ability to manage multiple UDB (ver 8.2/9.1) instances involving huge
databases independently on AIX/Solaris.
- Installation of UDB(EEE/DPF) database software on UNIX platforms.
- UDB fixpack installation.
- Instance and Database creation & configurations.
- Working knowledge on Federated databases.
- Planning and implementation of Backup and recovery procedures.
- Restoration of databases online, offline databases.
- Tablespace management and capacity planning in non-DPF/DPF databases.
- Familiarity with snapshots and SQL explains.
- Familiarity in Data Refresh with Re-directed restore.
- UDB objects creation and maintenance.
- Database space and user privilege management.
- Experience on Performance management and OS resource utilization analysis
- Configuration of database parameters for tuning.
- Reorganization of tables and indexes.
- Good knowledge in Unix Shell scripting.
- Should have familiarity of the Data Movement utilities.
- Understanding of db2 memory management
- Understanding of db2 9 new features.
- Good understanding of incident and change management procedures.
